Olivia and Anthony first met in college at the University of Minnesota in 2016 in their statistics class. After Olivia moved from sitting behind Anthony on the first day of class to sitting across the room on the second day, it took Anthony a while to work up the courage to approach her. But on October 31st, 2016, Anthony asked Olivia to share her notes with him, and the rest is history.
. . . Except it wasn’t quite that simple. Anthony failed to mention that he would be studying abroad in London in the Spring of 2017, leaving a few short weeks after Olivia and Anthony began spending time together. Anthony made up for it by bringing Olivia and her roommates Bogarts donuts when he came over to do homework, which quickly put him on Olivia’s friends’ good side. Throughout Anthony’s time in London, Olivia and Anthony decided it was too much work to text with the time difference and resorted to emailing each other for that semester, a true modern love story.
During college, Olivia would spend Wednesday nights watching Anthony’s tennis matches, while Anthony spent almost every weekend in a humid aquatic center supporting Olivia at her swim meets. Olivia and Anthony also had their fair share of travel during college, with trips to San Francisco, the Grand Canyon, a trip to the Amalfi Coast and England after they graduated in 2019, many trips camping up north, and all the trips in the summers to Spicer, MN where Olivia’s family owns a cabin on Green Lake. During these trips, Olivia and Anthony are known to have cutthroat games of croquet all day long, keeping score throughout the summers and declaring a winner every fall. Anthony currently leads 5-2.
Anthony proposed to Olivia on a sweltering August day during a game of croquet (a risky move, see description of croquet games above). Olivia said yes, and more importantly to her, won the game of croquet.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all at our wedding!
